Best Performer

Fiji continues to be the best performer compared to other countries in the region.
Tourism Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said visitor arrivals in the country grew by 4 per cent in the first quarter of this year.

Growth continuing: AG

Fiji is already making good tourism numbers from statistics collected for the first quarter of the year, said the Minister for Tourism Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum during an international press conference.
The press conference was held during the Bula Fiji Tourism Exchange. This is being jointly held at the Warwick and Naviti resorts on the Coral Coast.

Appeal raises $40K

About $40,000 which was raised during the Japanese Red Cross Appeal in Rakiraki on Saturday will be sent to the Red Cross society in Japan.
The event, organised by the Wananavu Resort in Rakiraki, will be sent as a donation from the resort on behalf of its guests and employees.

Wananavu tsunami appeal raises $40k

The Wananavu Resort on Saturday night launched the first Japanese Red Cross Tohoku earthquake appeal for the resort and collected approximately $40,000 for the worthy cause.
Wananavu general manager Ben Plummer came up with the idea of an appeal after seeing that friends of families and friends of friends who visited the resort were directly and indirectly affected by the tsunami and earthquake that rocked Japan.
