More Tourist Visit Fiji: PM

More tourists are gracing our shores as the Bureau of Statistics reports a tremendous increase compared to statistics from 2010. This was announced by the Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama, last night at the AON Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards at the Sofitel Resort and Spa on Denarau. Commodore Bainimarama said approximately 675,050 international visitors visited our country in 2011.

Likuliku leads the way

LIKULIKU Lagoon Resort has done it again. Year after year the Malolo island retreat gets ranked among the best in the world and this time the country's first ever over-water bure has made the front cover of the prestigious Islands Magazine USA, 30th anniversary edition. The magazine also lists the couples' only haven in the top 20 World's Greatest Escapes.

Hotels keep environment clean

Hotels along the Coral Coast are working with the Ministry of Environment in reducing the use of plastic bags. Outrigger on the Lagoon Fiji resort will be launching its ‘No Plastic-that’s Fantastic’ campaign next month. Coral Coast Hotels Association chairman and resort general manager, Peter Hopgood yesterday announced that the resort and other members of the  Association had been working on a plan to combat  environmental problems which are caused by the use of plastic bags.
